NEW YORK — Americans maintain strongly negative attitudes about our nation’s fiscal challenges, according to the Peter G. Peterson Foundation’s latest Fiscal Confidence Index, a monthly measure of public attitudes about the nation’s long-term debt and the efforts elected leaders are making to address the problem.
The Fed is not in the business of monetizing our government’s debt but is skating close to the edge, which has upped the risk of a misstep.
“This CBO score is the latest evidence that this bill needs to be improved as it moves through the legislative process," said Michael A. Peterson, CEO of the Peter G. Peterson Foundation.
