The Peter G. Peterson Foundation and the Ford Foundation today announced $1.5 million in grant awards for US 2050, a unique research initiative examining the multiple demographic, economic, societal, and fiscal trends shaping America in the decades ahead.
On Wednesday, May 25, 2011, senior Administration officials, policy experts and Democratic and Republican elected leaders will come together in Washington to discuss solutions to the nation’s fiscal challenges at the 2011 Fiscal Summit: Solutions for America’s Future, convened by the Peter G. Peterson Foundation.

The results of the Peterson Foundation’s Solutions Initiative III are in: researchers from five leading think tanks agree that there are many ways to stabilize the nation’s long-term debt.
Building on work that began with the Foundation's Solutions Initiative last year, experts from the American Action Forum, the Bipartisan Policy Center, the Center for American Progress, the Economic Policy Institute and The Heritage Foundation have each composed specific plans to set the country on a more sustainable fiscal path, and set out their top priorities for the President and Congress.
“In the short term, nothing is more important to our economy and our health than defeating this virus, but Americans understand that we will need to return our attention to the nation’s fiscal health once the crisis has passed,” said Michael A. Peterson, CEO of the Peterson Foundation.
